A bespoke pressure transducer solution for the food industry

Two is safer than one

This bespoke solution was developed for an application in the food industry. The customer required a very specific flanged pressure transmitter connection for pressure measurement in their plant, which no other manufacturer had been willing to produce for them until then. A further requirement was redundant pressure measurement within the process.

As a solution, Labom manufactured a precisely fitted pressure transmitter for various nominal pipe sizes (1”, 2”, 3” or 4”), to which two PASCAL CV4 pressure transmitters are connected to the process via a REconnect quick-connect coupling each. The pressure is therefore measured at two points simultaneously, meaning the system effectively checks itself. The REconnect quick-connect couplings also allow the measuring instruments to be disconnected easily and safely without having to open the process. In this way, a PASCAL CV4 transducer can be disconnected from the plant and calibrated whilst the system is running, whilst the second transducer continues to measure the pressure and send the values to the plant control system. This ensures safe and uninterrupted operation.
