Requirements
Explosive, efficient, energetic: From coal and natural gas to renewable energies such as water or wind power or biogas – the requirements of the energy industry are as varied as the types of energy used. In particular, the increasing use of hydrogen (e.g. for power generation, in steel production and the chemical industry, as a storage medium for regenerative energy or in continuing use as an admixture to natural gas) presents new challenges as this gas can penetrate stainless steel.
Efficiency and safety are the most important criteria for the selection of measuring instruments in energy supply – regardless of the energy sector. In addition, all components should be durable and low-maintenance, especially for municipal utility companies or decentralised wind power plants.
