Shipbuilding and marine equipment

Wet, salty, rough: Whether a freighter or passenger ship, you have to be able to rely on your measuring instruments on the high seas.  Measurement technology plays an important role, especially in shipbuilding and marine equipment, for example in level measurements for fuel, water or freight tanks, pump monitoring, drinking water treatment or in motion control systems. The aggressive environment (salt water, oils, vibrations) of the seafaring requires especially robust and safe measuring devices.

The Labom solution

LABOM has extensive experience in shipbuilding and marine equipment, not least because of its proximity to the coast. In addition to seawater resistant stainless steel no. 1.4571, we also use special materials (stainless steel no. 1.4462 and titanium) or coatings (such as PTFE, PFA or synthetic resin). Our measuring instruments for temperature, level and pressure monitoring of fuel or cargo tanks are resistant to chemicals

and fuel types such as diesel or heavy oil, even at high temperatures. Labom also offers solutions for monitoring at low temperatures. In addition, the very high salt resistance of the instruments is an important criterion for desalination plants for the treatment of drinking water on board.
